Women generally earn less than men and live longer. And, at some point in
their lives, most women are solely responsible for managing their own money
or the money that supports their families. In this video program, we highlight
ways that women can take a strong and pro-active approach to their finances.
Through candid interviews, women tell their real-life stories about their
experiences dealing with money during different stages of life - from a first
job through to retirement - and in unexpected circumstances such as divorce,
disability, or the death of a spouse.
Financial experts give tips and advice for successfully managing money.
Maria Baritomo, CNBC financial anchor, narrates this documentary about important
ways to successfully handle your money. The production was funded by the National
Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE).
"There's no chromosome in a woman that makes her
unable to handle investments or to do mathematics . . . Go out and learn just
the way you learn everything else."
Barbara Quint, Financial Advisor
"Look for a job with a pension plan. Otherwise, . . . you're going to
have to save twice as much (for retirement)."
